Our Instructors Mike Prudencio – Head Coach . Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt. Mike started training with Ralph and Cesar Gracie. He went through the ranks with Ralph through brown belt before achieving his black belt from Dave Camarillo in October 2007 and his 2nd degree black belt in December 2013. Atsushi Yoshinaga – Judo. Judo Black Belt – Jiu-Jitsu Brown Belt Atsushi’s grappling background traces back to age of 7 when he started training in Judo. It is been a life-long passion that has taken him across the globe, specifically Japan, Poland, Hungary and more. It was Judo that would lead Atsushi to California as he attended San Jose State University’s world-renowned Judo program. Atsushi was ultimately recruited by Mike Prudencio to teach Jiu Jitsu base classes and subsequently Atsushi brought the remaining bunch down to One World with him. Atsushi recieved his Jiu-Jitsu brown belt from Mike Prudencio in 2014. Clinton Cronin – Adults Jiu-Jitsu. Clint has been with AKA Sunnyvale since the day it opened in 2006. He was promoted to black belt by Mike Prudencio in July 2016. He has experience in Wrestling and Judo before getting his start in Jiu Jitsu formally in 2005. He has spent a considerable amount of time training in other countries and has spent time in London, Singapore and fondly calls Brazil a second home. Clint has since branched out and found success in the broadcasting world with his podcast “The Clint Cronin Show” on iTunes, Google Play Music and YouTube. Clint teaches the early morning program at AKA Sunnyvale 6:30AM Wednesdays and Fridays and is available for private lessons. Keith “Fook” Fukumae – Advanced Jiu-Jitsu. Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Fook started training Jiu-Jitsu at One World in 2008. In 2014 he received his black belt from Mike Prudencio. Fook teaches the adult class at One World Jiu Jitsu Headquarters in Union City at 6:30PM on Mondays and Wednesdays. Additionally, he usually organizes the Sunday open mat at 6PM. Kyle Lahane – Kid Jiu-JItsu. Kyle began his Jiu-Jitsu journey at One World Jiu Jitsu in Union City in 2008 at the age of 15. He received his black belt from Mike Prudencio in 2014. Kyle teaches the kids class at One World Jiu Jitsu Headquarters in Union City at 5:15PM Monday through Friday. Jacob Bell – Adults Jiu-Jitsu. Judo Black Belt – Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Jake’s grappling background traces back to his roots in Hawaii where at the tender age of 17 he undertook Judo. He states that he always favored “newaza” or ground techniques, which made the transition to Jiu Jitsu feel very natural. Being a black belt at Pearl City High under Roy Kawaji, Jake ultimately went to the world-renowned San Jose State University’s Judo program. It was while going to SJSU that Jake’s journey into Jiu Jitsu began. At first, he went to the original American Kickboxing Academy (on Camden), going once a week after SJSU Judo practice. Jake received his Jiu-Jitsu black belt from Mike Prudencio in 2014. Jake is renowned for his heart and is one of One World Jiu Jitsu’s fiercest competitors. Jake trains and teaches at One World Jiu-Jitsu Sunnyvale. Nam Ngo – Kids Jiu- Jitsu. Jiu-Jitsu Purple Belt Nam started training Jiu-Jitsu at One World in Union City in 2010. He received his purple belt from Mike Prudencio in 2014. You can find Nam on the mat every day. Nam teaches the kids class with Kyle Lehane at One World Jiu-Jitsu Headquarters in Union City at 5:15PM Monday through Friday. Vu Tran – Adults Jiu-Jitsu. Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Vu began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in the summer of 2008 at the age of 19. He was awarded his black belt by Mike Prudencio in 2014. Vu teaches at AKA Sunnyvale on Tuesday (Vuesday) nights at 5:30PM. Eric Stang – Adults Jiu-Jitsu and Fundamentals. Jiu-Jitsu Purple Belt, Eric started training out of AKA Sunnyvale under Alex Khanbabian and Bobby Southworth in 2009. He received his purple belt from Mike Prudencio in 2015 and has been teaching since, starting with early AM classes and blossoming into a full morning instructor. Eric now teaches almost daily, leading both the 6:30AM and 10:30AM classes Monday – Friday at One World Jiu-Jitsu, and is also available for private lessons. He is known for his intricate technical breakdowns and unique style. Eric is a great instructor for all skill levels. Eric has worked as a professional body guard and Salsa dance instructor.
